Girls: Boys think they have to keep up their “tough guy” image which means they can’t express emotions or feelings. If they do, they will be considered weak and vulnerable.

Why are girls always expressing their feelings?
Boys: Girls want attention, and they are more apt to be emotional.
Girls: We actually only express one side of ourselves; we hide more than people think. We need someone to listen to the side we are willing to express; its easier for us to express our feelings on some topics. Feelings aren't a sign of weakness to us.

Why can’t girls be immature like boys and not be made fun of?
Boys: They take it more personally.
Girls: Girls have a certain standard to live up to; we are expected to mature faster than boys.

Why do girls wear makeup?
Boys: They are self conscience
Girls: We don't wear makeup to impress guys but to be more confident in ourselves.

Why don’t boys EVER understand anything? Girls have to spell everything out!
Boys: We can but we don’t want to.
Girls: They hear what you're saying but don’t think it through.

Why do girls tell guys their problems and not want any answers?
Boys: They think out loud.
Girls: We want guys to sympathize with us and we get mad when they don’t. We want to hear a certain answer and when guys don’t give us that certain answer, we get upset.

Famous People that Shaped Our World

Hello blog readers, it’s Miss Queenie here. One of the things that I love to do is read history. I am my family’s history buff. When most people think of historical figures, they think of all the war heros, inventors, presidents, and other people like that. Most of them miss out on the artists and movie stars, etc. They are all part of history. But what makes them stand out, is that they inspire people.
From the end of the First World War to the beginning of the Great Depression, life was full of trials for the people of America. But what kept them going was the movies. In the movies, at that point in time, was none other than the curly-top, child star Shirley Temple.
In 1932, she began her acting career at age three. Little Shirley danced and sang her way through the movies, and into people's hearts. Shirley and her tap dance partner, Bill Robinson, were one of the greatest dance partners of the ages. She inspired her fans, both young and old. Her curly hair was as iconic as her dancing. It was only 59 curly curls.
Shirley was iconic and beloved because she inspired people through her joy and happiness. She whisked people off from all the crazy stuff that happened to their happy place. I hope you guys enjoyed my post. Peace ya’ll! - Miss Queenie

The early 1900's were home to some of the most brilliant inventors in history. While Henry Ford did not actually invent the automobile or the assembly line, he is often credited with both achievements due to his role in popularizing them. When Henry was young, he would, out of curiosity, take apart pocket watches and put them back together to learn how the pieces worked. This curiosity eventually led him to create a horseless carriage, the Ford Quadricycle, which was a novel idea at the time. His employer, Thomas Edison, encouraged him to build more and sell them. In 1903, He founded the Ford Motor Company. Five years later, the Model T car became available to the people. With his company, Henry brought the automobile to middle class Americans with the help of the quick and efficient assembly line, which he sponsored. Ford Motor Company also used franchising, another new concept, to allow wider distribution of their product. Henry Ford revolutionized American business with his use of the assembly line and the Model T. He is considered one of the most important American businessmen of all time. Henry Ford’s achievements make him my favorite person from the early 1900s. - SouperMarioBro

Week Ending Activities!

Hey guys, it's Holly.  Today I just wanted to tell you a little bit about what I like doing on weekends. I'm supposed to be writing about my "favorite weekend activity," but I don't really have one.  There are way too many to choose just one. However, I will tell you about several things I enjoy.  If we are being completely honest, I usually don't have plans.  If I do, they usually consist of going to my friends' house, shopping, going to the movies, going out to eat, or just anything that involves getting out of the house.  The things I do on the weekend depend entirely on my mood.  For instance, sometimes I just stay in my room all day, watch Netflix, listen to music, nap, and eat food (the usual plan).  Whereas other times I'm the absolute opposite; wanting to get out of the house and be active. I used to have gymnastics practice, but the schedule changed. Besides, at this time of year, I have competitions that occur on weekends.  The time of year also determines what I can or can’t do. In the summer, I love camping, swimming, hiking, fishing, and going on "adventures" to end the week. I'm somewhat easy going with my plans and I have fun doing so many different things. I honestly just love getting out and experiencing new activities.  I also think that if I have my friends with me, things are usually a lot more fun. It doesn't matter where we are, or what we're doing, as long as I'm with them.  I may not have a favorite weekend activity, but I still have many things I have fun doing. - Holly Mackerel

My favorite weekend activity is going to the YMCA and Prairie Township Recreation
Center. I play basketball and hang out with my friends. It is a really good time to have
fun and get better in the process.
The YMCA is a great place to get in shape. As a freshman, I get a lot of
experience and improve on my basketball skills. I also receive many tips of wisdom
from the older people. Saturday night is the most crowded and has the best competition.
In Prairie Township there is a new recreation center. The court overall is way better
than the YMCA, but the competition is better at the YMCA. Most of my friends live in
West Jeff, so when we want to play ball, we go to the rec center because it is closer than the YMCA.
The main reason basketball is my favorite sport is because it keeps me out of trouble
and it is fun. Basketball is a great activity during the weekend and a healthy way to
have fun. If it was not for basketball I would end up being a couch potato. Millions of
people play basketball every day. In fact, most people out of high school love playing at rec
centers. That is what makes basketball the best activity during the weekend and my favorite sport. - Calliou Bernard

Rave Restaurant Reviews

Hey Everyone! RottenFresh again, but you know someplace that’s not rotten? I’m talking about restaurants! A little while ago I went to BJ’s Brewhouse not far from where I live. Now I have been to many great restaurants before, but I don't think I have come across one this good. So let me tell you about this place; first off it's a brewhouse which means they make there own alcoholic drinks. Now I don't drink, and that's because at the time of writing this, I am not of age so I think it's time to shift gears and talk about the food.
Quick question, have you ever seen a pizza so deep dish that it's about two inches deep? Well if you haven't then maybe you should try some next time you go to BJ’s because when they say it's a deep dish pizza they mean it! Everything was great, really great to be exact. Now hopefully I have not made you hungry yet but that actually might be a good thing because I am about to talk about the ribs. Now I know that not everyone eats meat (vegan) but let me tell you about this amazing dish; All meat is tenderly cooked, flavored, and topped with amazing sauce. Now in order to properly enjoy ribs you will have to get your hands dirty, there is no other way, or at least not from my perspective. Now comes everyone’s favorite part: dessert! I don’t think anyone can argue with me about this one, because at BJ’s they have something special. It’s called a pizookie. If you have no idea what that is, that's ok, because I didn't know either until I had one. It's a big warm cookie with ice cream on top of it. Now that might not sound all that exciting, but just wait until you try one! Did I mention the cookie is warm? Now if you feel like this was a paid promotion I can tell you it's not. What I can tell you is that you should totally give this place a try. - RottenFresh

Hey everyone, Miss Queenie here. Some of the best advice ever given to me was that you can never judge a book by its cover. The same way works for food. You will never know if you like it if you turn it away without tasting it. I like all types food from everything mild to spicy, sweet to a not-so sweet, and from normal to weird. Once I had some chocolate covered bacon. That might sound gross, but it was not.
I was just able to go eat at a restaurant called Steak Escape Sandwich Grill. Their sandwiches are awesome. They even have a sandwich take on a potato. Each sandwich they have is very individual and unique. They have so many food choices it is unbelievable. Everything I had to eat was so awesomely good. If you are not a sub kind person they have some wraps, salads, Smashed Potatoes, and Fresh Fry Nation where Steak Escape turned some normal French fries into their own version of a sub. They even have fish for the seafood person inside of you. The prices are very reasonable and the bathrooms were clean. There you have it! Steak Escape is one of my go to sub places. Have a great time eating ya’ll! Peace. - Miss Queenie

Boys Vs. Girls: A Christian's View of Public School

Over the past few weeks, our team of (in)experienced writers has been filming a
video that shows our Christian perspective of public school. Although very few of us have ever gone to public school, the events in the video are very similar to the experiences to those of us who have been to public school. The process of filming was not as easy as yelling “action!”, but we managed.

Obama and Our Government

Today's government is far from what our forefathers intended it to be. What was supposed to be a free and united country, has turned into a hate filled, vicious society. Issues including: racism, abortion, gun control, Obamacare, immigration, and so much more are being debated daily. President Obama has put our country in such deep trouble that I fear we will not be able to rise above it.
Barack Obama is one of the worst presidents we have had in over 36 years. Our debt has nearly doubled since he took office, reaching a little over 19 trillion dollars. The unemployment rate is uncomfortably high and almost half of Americans are dependent on the government for financial needs. Race is a bigger issue than ever with the Trayvon Martin case and the Ferguson, Missouri shooting. Obama did more to stir up the issue than to subdue it. At the beginning of his term, President Obama signed a stimulus package that was suppose to boost our economy which failed miserably costing us billions of dollars. Plus, The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), which promised the millions of those without health insurance coverage, covered less than 30% of those estimated.
President Obama has also failed in being a mature leader and friend when it comes to other countries. He pulled our troops out of Iraq as soon as possible and ignored them when the terror threat returned, offering no assistance at all. He continued to ignore Iraq as the Islamic state got worse, adventually admitting he had no plan to help them. He failed to shut down Guantanamo Bay which cost the FBI resources. He also failed to suppress the illegal immigrant issue, but at least he had time in his schedule to go golfing!
With the upcoming presidential election, if we allow another democrat to get into office, we will probably become a socialist country. Socialism takes away our freedoms in business and eliminates our desire for success. Based on the facts stated above, we need a leader who will take our constitution for how it was intended to be and not change it to fit his/her desires. If we can elect a republican into office, I believe our country will regain some of what we have lost over the past eight years. - Les Anya

What if the government was a joke? What if the President of the United States was not the Head of State. How should citizens react towards the president? The government is fallen, corrupted, and like a building being demolished.  When a president is elected, he has to take the oath of the Constitution. President Obama took that oath but has not followed the Constitution. He is making it harder and harder for people to get guns. The second Amendment says that people have the right to keep and bear arms. He is also letting millions and millions of babies die each day through abortion. So what kind of government is this? The government is an institution to protect the people. But what if the president does not use that power? Nowadays the people who run the government are the rich and want power. There are billionaires out there that you don't even know. So what can we do to stop this? As citizens of the U.S. we have to impeach the president of the U.S. and elect a Christian. The whole idea of the government started out based on God and back then the government was a lot better. It is simple, if you follow God's ways, you will live a happy and safe life. But that will never happen if citizens of the United States don't stand up for what is right.

Awkward and Embarrassing Moments....Hate Them Now, Love Them Later!!

We all have those moments that are AWKWARD! We wish we could forget them….but we don’t. I’ve decided I’m willing to share a few of my awkward and embarrassing moments so you all no longer feel alone.
My first is story was probably the most shocking to me of all my stories. I was standing in a circle of boys and girls and we were hitting a volley ball around for fun. I was wearing a pencil style skirt and standing with my legs spread apart and my arms forward, ready for the ball. Some random kid jumped into our circle and rudely batted the ball towards the ground, away from the players. The ball bounced once….then again right by my feet...and it bounced RIGHT UP MY SKIRT. And it STUCK IN MY SKIRT. I stood there, mouth open, the ball pushing my skirt out awkwardly, while all the boys started snickering and pointing. I was so shocked I stood there for about 10 seconds, immobile. I finally moved and pushed the ball out of my skirt with my fingers. I’ve never quite lived that one down. Note to self: this is probably why I shouldn’t play any sports because whenever I come in contact with anything related to a ball, I do something AWKWARD….like the time I dumped water on a bunch of people, while trying to play an impromptu volleyball game with a water bottle?.....let’s just not go there.
My next one happened while we were visiting out-of-state friends. We had an awesome evening full of fun, laughter, and staying up late (!), so we were all very tired. This resulted in sleeping in late the next morning. I got up earlier than anyone so I could get a shower. Realizing I’d forgotten to get shampoo from my parents room the night before, I tiptoed quietly downstairs to their room in my pjs. Confidently, I opened up the door and stepped into the bedroom. I glanced around looking for my parents’ suitcase. WHERE was it?! I tiptoed around the room looking for it and growing more impatient by the second. I walked over to the bed which was a bunk with a double bed on the bottom and a single on the top. I could see, what I thought was, my Dad’s white T-shirt facing me in front, but I could barely make out the lump that must be Mom lying shadowed underneath the other bunk bed. “Mom!” I whispered. No answer. “MOM!” I said louder. Frustrated, I poked Dad’s arm and said in a loud stage whisper, “DAD I NEED THE SHAMPOO!” “Dad” tipped his head back and looked up at me groggily and that’s when I saw his face in full. IT WASN’T MY DAD! It was one of the boys in the family we were visiting! Shocked, I took a better look at “Mom”. It was another boy…..and in the top bunk one of my brothers. AHHHH! The boy I woke up still hadn’t said anything, probably because he’d never seen the scary sight of me in my pjs and bed head hair. “Sorry,” I whispered and turned and dashed out of the room. He never did mention it to me, but, when I was asked later that morning to get something from my parents room, I thought I saw him smile and bite his lip to keep from laughing. Or maybe he thought I was one scary nightmare. Whatever the case was, I was relieved we left that day for home!
So now you know you’re not alone! I do weird, awkward, and embarrassing things A LOT! So don’t feel awkward about sharing some of your embarrassing stories in the comments. It will make ME feel better. Have a crazy and awkwardly fun day!
-Flinn Wilder

Hey Air A. Gorn here. I have had a few embarrassing moments. Some are funny and some are just downright embarrassing. So today you will get to know some of my personal embarrassing things.
Earlier this summer my dad and I were working on a project for my room. We were using an electric saw to cut some plywood. A little while later, I was hitting a bush in front of our house pretending to be a jedi, when all of a sudden I hit a wasp’s nest. One thing you need to know about me is that I am allergic to bees and absolutely TERRIFIED OF THEM! So, as soon as I hit the hive, I was covered in about twenty wasps and I ran for my life screaming. My mom, thinking I had cut my fingers off came running out the front door right into a swarm of them. Meanwhile, I was running in circles like a chicken with its head cut off while my dad was trying to get me to run away from the hive. I was panicking and screaming, “Spray me with water!!!” over and over. I finally stopped running in circles and got rid of all but one wasp, which was stuck in my hair. It stung me over and over, which was excruciating. Thankfully, I am not allergic to bees that much so I didn’t die. I just had a massive headache for a couple hours where that one wasp stung me what seemed like twenty times. My mom ended up with just a couple of stings (her first ever). In the end, no one really got hurt. But I am still terrified of bees and wasps.
My next embarrassing story was when I was really young about 6-7 years old. Just like I am afraid of bees, I am also equally terrified of needles. It was the day of my yearly checkup, and I had to get some shots. I was not looking forward to it at all. The checkup part went well, but when the nurse came with the shots, I FREAKED OUT. I did everything in my power to get away from that nurse. As soon as she said, “Will you please get onto the table” I dashed under the chairs and hid behind my moms purse, and screamed. After about five minutes my mom finally had to drag me out and restrain me. I fought my mom with everything in me but the deed was done. The needle had already gone in my arm and then back out. To this day I can’t stand needles. For that reason alone I will probably never give blood. Most likely nothing will ever get rid of my fear of needles.
I have done some pretty embarrassing things in my life, some I will probably never tell anyone, but, in the end, it is all good for laughs. So I hope you have all enjoyed a little bit of the embarrassing part of me. Chow!

Vacation at it's Finest

For most people who live in the ridiculously cold weather and would rather spend their days at the beach in the sun, Florida is the perfect place. The beautiful beaches, tropical weather, and, of course, the theme parks, are things that some people just don’t have everyday. Florida has some gorgeous beaches.  Sanibel and Captiva island are two islands definitely worth checking out. Sanibel island has the perfect beaches filled with white sand and rolling waves. Biking around Sanibel is an unquestionable must. Milkshakes from Cheeburger Cheeburger are a great way to complete a bike-riding filled adventure. Captiva Islands beaches look beautiful in the sunset and are abundant in  precious seashells. The Disney and Universal theme parks in Orlando are also extremely popular. The Universal theme parks are great for a rollercoaster loving person like me. It’s also for those who enjoy a good laugh too. As you might know, I absolutely love reading and watching Harry Potter which also is another part of the Universal theme parks. Going into Hogsmeade, riding the train to Diagon Alley and walking into Gringotts bank and Hogwarts was completely unreal for me. There are other rides such as: The Mummy, Rip-Ride Rocket, Transformers 3-D, Minions, Men in Black, Jurassic Park just to name a few.  I was lucky enough to go on most of these rides and they were completely amazing. If you have the opportunity to go to one or both theme parks, I would certainly recommend it. Now, what is your favorite vacation destination? Leave your answer in the comments below. :)
-Velma

Every year, around 41% of all paid vacation days are wasted. I believe that one reason
for this is because people are not able to find a vacation spot that is perfect for their
family. That is easy to figure out, because there is a place that is great for everyone. In
my opinion, the best place to take a vacation is in Florida. Florida is warm all year long,
which is great for people who enjoy vacations in the middle of winter. It is also a tropical
paradise, with beautiful beaches and giant palm trees. While other tropical locations like
Hawaii or the Bahamas may look more enticing, Florida is part of the mainland, so travel
is not as expensive. Florida is also home to many theme parks, for people who do not
enjoy water very much. There are swamps and forests for nature lovers, and glimmering
oceans full of colorful fish that would amaze anyone. Because of the reasons listed
above, Florida is my favorite vacation spot and many other vacationers’ as well. It is
family friendly, great for many kinds of people, and overall one of the best uses for paid
vacation days. Now, go take some time off!

Our two post writers didn’t realize they would pick the same state for their favorite vacation

spot. It must mean Florida is really awesome place to vacation! Let us know where your

favorite vacation spot is in the comments!

Lord of the Flies....Will You Give This Piece of Classic Literature a Try?

Spoiler Alert: These articles contain important information on the main action in the book Lord of the Flies!

The book, Lord of the Flies, is about how people react in life. It starts out during

World War II and a group of boys are leaving England for safety. But as they are flying,

their plane is shot down and crashes on an island with no adults. On the island, the

book starts out with a character named Ralph. Ralph becomes the chief of the island.

Jack, although he is second in command, want to have his own tribe . In the beginning,

Jack shows a little of his anger. Jack was a character who wanted power. A person who

wants power, never ends well. When the book gets closer to the end, problems arise. A

fire to signal ships was out when a ship passed. Jack becomes obsessed with killing

pigs. The boys went so crazy that they even thought there was a creature on the island.

Ralph forms a meeting to make some more rules. But Jack gets mad at Ralph and runs

away to form his own tribe. Jack's tribe gets out of hand, they kill two people and chase

Ralph through the jungle trying to kill him. Towards the end, Ralph is running for his life.

Jack's group went insane and lit the whole island on fire. But since they did that, a ship

saw the smoke and came to the island. At the end, Ralph saw the naval officer and they

all cried. When they saw him, their eyes were open, and the boys realized that they

would suffer for the rest of their lives. Lord of the Flies is a good book but can be a little

long and boring. It has great detail and good story line, but out of five, I would have to

give it a two. - Calliou Bernard

Hey, Miss Queenie here. The first thing you have to know about me is I LOVE to read. Just

recently I was able to read the book Lord of the Flies. It was one of the most challenging

books I have ever read. Usually, I can read for hours, but with Lord of the Flies I could

barely get past the second page. In my opinion, Lord of the Flies was not a good book at all.

Most of the concepts in the book were very confusing and strange and are situated around

a boy named Ralph. Ralph and a group of boys are stranded on an island. . They had no

specific adult leader, so Ralph ended was chosen by the boys to lead them. While on the

island, a boy, named Piggy, is the laughing stock of the island because of his physical

shape. The hunters, always wanting to do their own thing, decided to cause havoc in the

camp. When Jack’s hunters killed a massive pig, they had a party. During that party, a boy

named Simon showed up and, thinking that he was a beast, they killed him. Not long after

that, Piggy was murdered, and Jack’s tribe started hunting Ralph. In the end, a naval officer

saw the smoke and rescued the boys. This book was not my favorite thing to read. Bye for

now. - Miss Queenie

We have two negative articles on the classic Lord of the Flies. Does that mean its not any good? It's up to you to decide! Let us know your opinion of Lord of the Flies and these book critiques in the comment section.

Should Taylor Swift be The Famous Music Artist She Is?

From country boots to high heels, Taylor Swift has traveled around the music world. With the release of “Our Song” in 2008, she became one of the youngest artists to write a song and have it hit the top of the charts, bringing in fans from around the world. People of all ages fell in love with her, one of those people being me.
For a little eight year old girl, Taylor Swift was the person to look up to. Growing up in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, Taylor found a love for singing at a young age. When she was 9, she became involved in musical theatre and regularly traveled to acting and vocal lessons. Later on, she found a love for country and began performing at local festivals and competition’s. To help pursue Taylor’s dreams, her parents decided to move the family to Nashville, Tennessee. Soon after, Taylor caught the eye of Scott Borchetta who was preparing to start his own record label, Big Machine Records. Taylor finally had a record deal and released her debut album “Taylor Swift” which included hit songs like “Our Song” and “Tim Mcgraw”. Taylor Swift soared to the top of hot country song charts and she became the youngest artist to write and record a number one hit song.
Taylor’s fame grew as she sold thousands of copies of her debut album soon to turn into millions. As her fan base grew, she wrote and released another hit album title “Fearless” which became the most-awarded album in country music history. She became the youngest artist to win Entertainer of the Year and won several Grammy awards. As Taylor became the country princess, she released yet another album titled “Speak Now” which again blew everyone away selling a million copies in the first week. At the release of her albums “Red” and “1989”, Taylor, the little country princess, became a pop star diva. Taylor's songs, written all from life experiences, really sparked something in people's hearts not to mention the tunes that got stuck in people’s heads. She wrote songs that make you want dance in your bedroom and sing along to at the top of your lungs!
I’ve grown up listening and watching Taylor Swift rise to the top of the music industry. Her talent is undeniable. She has such a perky personality and her cats are adorable. She loves her fans so much, even inviting some to her home to listen to her new album before it was released. It’s amazing to see someone work for their dreams and actually succeed. Taylor is really inspiring for many young artists. - Les Anya

Hey everyone, it’s That Drummer Guy.   In this post I will be sharing my opinion

of Taylor Swift.  First off, if you’re a Taylor Swift fan don’t be offended by this post.

Taylor Swift is definitely on my Top Ten List of Worst Artists in the World, and this is why

I don’t like her.

Probably the number one reason I don’t like Taylor, is her immaturity.  This

immaturity is show within her music, it’s all about her ex-boyfriends.  Whenever she

wants to make a new song, all she needs to do its date some guy, break up with him

and BOOM!  Another song was written.  You have to admit that it’s extremely immature.

Another reason I don’t like her is that, like so many artists these days.  She doesn’t care

about her fans, it’s all about the money.  You might be saying right now, “You’re wrong

Drummer Guy, she does care about her fans”.  I don’t think that the statement is true,

just look at the way she treats other people.  Especially the way she treats her

“boyfriends” otherwise known as “the only way to get ideas for a song because Taylor

Swift has zero ideas”.  She only cares about the money. Look at the facts everyone!

Taylor Swift has no right to be considered an amazing music artist.  Some people might

think she has good music, but her personality and thought process are horrible.  I hope

that this post has explained to you why I think that way I do about Taylor Swift.

Drummer out. - That Drummer Guy

We would enjoy hearing your opinion on who you think is right. Let us know in the
